Auraria Campus Bookstore - Buyback

Buyback

The Auraria Campus Bookstore is pleased to offer students CA$H for books.

A current Student ID is required for all buyback transactions.

When is the best time to sell back books?
At the end of each semester, the bookstore will pay top dollar for any book that is being re-used in the upcoming semester. This requires that faculty submit timely book adoptions.

Online Buyback

In the 2009/2010 Year The Auraria Campus Bookstore hit a milestone and paid students over 1.5 million dollars in buyback cash. We are working hard to build buyback awareness for students and faculty. The number one way to reduce the cost of books is a strong buyback program. The Auraria Campus Bookstore is pleased to offer students half of the new price at buyback for books that we need stock on for future semesters. This can add up to big savings.

Here is how an ideal buyback program works:

Student buys new textbook for $100.00
Faculty adopts textbook on time for next semester
Student gets $50.00 at end of semester buyback
New students buy Used book for $75.00
faculty adopts textbook on time for future semester
Student gets $50.00 at end of semester buyback

The keys to success are faculty re-using the same books and turning in book orders on time and students selling back their books at the right time.

The store also buys back books year round for a national wholesale company. During this time the pricing is determined by the wholesale company and is based on a national value. The books are shipped off to a wholesale company and resold to other college stores who may be using the book.

Unfortunately, Buyback pricing cannot be quoted over the phone or at our registers. They must be physically scanned at the Buyback counter to determine price or if it will be bought back.

What happens to books with no value?

The Auraria Campus Bookstore donates any unwanted textbooks to the Bridge to Asia Program. Bridge To Asia Website
Books that have no overseas value are sent to Green Earth Book Recylcers where they are recylced into items such as roofing shingles or pizza boxes.
